When it comes to weddings, tensions are high and emotions run deep. Everyone - especially the bride - wants it all to be perfect. But lots of grooms are opting for an alternative way to break the ice and ease the tension on their special day - by pranking their beautiful new wife.
One groom who thought it would hilarious to shock his spouse is Joe Cox, 27, who tricked his wife Laura, 26, into thinking waiters had dropped their extravagant four-tier wedding cake when walking into the dining room at Crathorne Hall in North Yorkshire.
The waiters - who turned out to be hired entertainers - were bickering as they carried the heavy fake wedding cake, which was an exact replica of the pale pink birdcage cake they had bought.
When they dropped it, as you'd expect, the guests and bride gasped in shock, and Laura stormed off to find out what happened.
Just seconds later though, the healthcare assistant realised it was all a prank organised by her self-employed roofer husband when the waiters burst into song.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the brave groom - who seems to have been forgiven for his set-up - said: "It was a great addition because they got everyone up on their feet dancing afterwards to all the old wedding classics."

The replica cake cost £335 and it was Joe's way to have some involvement in the wedding day, as he had left the rest of the arrangements to his bride.
While this is an extreme way to get involved in your Big Day, more and more grooms are choosing to prank their new wives, either by arranging a surprise they didn't know about or by doing something really shocking.
You could get the best man to pretend to lose the wedding ring (but only for a few seconds), you could perform a surprise choreographed dance routine, put funny items under the wedding dress if the groom is planning to take off the garter belt in public, or fill the wedding car with balloons.
A funny trick for the bride to pull is to tie a piece of elastic to her bouquet, so when she goes to throw it to her bridesmaids and other female guests, it simply pings back.
Whatever you decide to do, pranks are a great way to get everyone laughing and lift the atmosphere so it becomes a really fun, relaxed day.
Wedding entertainers, much like the ones Joe used, can be a great help when it comes to pulling off pranks - so why not take a look at some we recommend in our list of wedding entertainment suppliers here?
