County Kerry is one of the Ireland's most beautiful hidden treasures, and getting married in one of its most luxurious wedding venues - The Dunloe - means you'll be able to appreciate the region in all its glory.

This is because the 5* hotel boasts beautiful views of its 64-acre estate and wider surroundings.

Newlyweds can even visit the ruins of the 12th Century Dunloe Castle for their photos, while the luxurious wedding venue overlooks the glacial valley of the Gap of Dunloe and the serene River Laune.

Its manicured gardens and pathways also make for idyllic spots for photographs and to have a private moment as a couple after becoming man and wife.

The hotel is famed for its exquisite menus, serving the very best in local produce, from Wild Atlantic fish to high-quality Kerry lamb.

A five-course banquet is on offer to guests, while couples can also choose to serve cocktails and canapés at their drinks reception.

The Dunloe is licenced for civil ceremonies, and brides and grooms receive complimentary accommodation in The Dunloe Suite, as well as two further guestrooms for parents.

Reviews for The Dunloe Hotel

We had our wedding at the Dunloe in May 2015 and would highly recommend it as a wedding venue. From the very first time that we met with the manager Jason we knew that we were dealing with a real professional. The layout of the hotel and in particular the area for the drinks reception, main function room coupled with the beautiful gardens and spectacular views all helped in our final decision to hold our wedding there. The personalised attention that we received in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding made the preparations quite seamless. The software app that the hotel provided us with was another added feature which assisted with the preparations. This proved to be a very user friendly and useful tool for gathering and collating all information along with arranging seating plans etc. On the morning of the wedding we received a text message from the hotel wishing us both the very best and reassuring us that everything would be looked after and for us to sit back and enjoy the day. This was a really nice touch which certainly started our big day on a positive note. Upon our arrival at the hotel, we were met by Jason and his team at the door with prosecco for all of the bridal party. The bridal party were then chauffeured to the hotel gardens for photos. This was another touch which ensured that the bride's dress remained dry after the heavy rains earlier in the day! While taking our photos in the garden, a fabulous array of canapés were brought down to us thereby ensuring that we weren't missing out in the food which all of the other guests were enjoying in the hotel! Everything about the reception was really fantastic. The pre-dinner drinks reception in the upstairs foyer area was enjoyed by all. The mixture of drinks, canapés etc coupled with the magical setting looking out over the Gap of Dunloe put all of the guests in great form and set the theme for a truly memorable day. The main dinner reception was first class in every way. The food was sublime and service excellent. Many of the guests commented afterwards on the friendliness of all of the staff which was very perceptible. Everything throughout the day went off without a hitch and most importantly all of the guests including the bride and groom thoroughly enjoyed the day with lots of positive lasting memories. The hotel venue certainly played a big part in the overall experience.
From Karina and Cian, review from May 2015

We got married on the 1st of June and had our wedding reception at The Dunloe. From the first day that we met Jason to book our wedding, everything was so easy and enjoyable. Jason gave us great advice from the start and helped us find an excellent band 'collage'. We were totally relaxed through-out the day, all of the staff were wonderful. We were able to relax and enjoy our day without any worries. We chose the Dunloe because of the wonderful location. But our main priority prior to the wedding was the food. We wanted all of our guests to enjoy an excellent meal. We have been to so many weddings where the food was a let-down and we didn't want that for our wedding. We really enjoyed our menu tasting prior to the wedding and we were assured that the same standard of food would be served to each of our guests on the day. And this was exactly what happened. Each and every one of our guests have complimented the food which was served both at the meal but also at the drinks reception. Everyone enjoyed it and that was really important to us! All of the staff at the Dunloe helped make this the best day of our lives. We did not have to think about anything. It was totally stress free which allowed us to enjoy spending the day celebrating with our family and friends. Also the grounds of the hotel were superb for photographs. This meant that we didn't have to travel elsewhere to take pictures and gave us more time to spend with our guests. A big big thank you to Jason and all of his wonderful staff!

While not normally one to submit reviews, our experience getting married at The Dunloe was such that we simply had to. From the incredibly attentive staff, who do so in such a natural welcoming way, to the picturesque hotel and grounds, to the food which surpassed our greatest expectations, we truly could not speak highly enough of this hotel. We were fortunate to enjoy spectacular weather on our wedding day, and the outside drinks reception on the grounds was something that will live with us forever. If feeling at home while being pampered in luxury is your thing, then The Dunloe is the hotel for you. From Aoife and Donogh, review from May 2015 A breathtaking experience... I am just home to England after having my wedding in what is the most amazing hotel in Kerry. My husband and I chose The Dunloe after a family holiday last year and from the stunning driveway up to the hotel with the horses and the spectacular water fountain we knew instantly this is where we wanted our big day to be. From arrival to departure we were blown away with how well we were looked after and how special we were made to feel. The staff could not do enough for us, the service was impeccable, the food was honestly the best food I have ever eaten, as agreed by all our guests the fillet of beef was out of this world, and the grounds are simply stunning- I cannot recommend this place enough. The rooms are all immaculate, spacious and have everything you need and the Bridal Suite was just incredible. Planning a wedding can be stressful and planning a wedding in a different country should be an even bigger struggle but Jason Clifford and his team at The Dunloe made this an easy task for us and we felt totally safe in their hands and the day ran without a hitch... I cannot thank everyone at The Dunloe enough for making our wedding the perfect day it was and we cannot wait to return again very soon as The Dunloe now has a special place in our hearts.
From Grace and Anthony, review from May 2015

My wife and I got married in Fossa and had our reception at the Dunloe on the 22nd August last. We cannot express how delighted we were to have chosen this venue for our special day. The whole experience was second to none and made all the easier with the help of Jason and his excellent team. The venue itself is located in the picturesque gap of dunloe and surrounded by the most beautiful grounds and gardens. There is plenty for guests to do, whether it be horse riding or fishing (all complementary) and the views are simply spectacular. We booked in for three nights and absolutely enjoyed every minute. The food is delicious and all of our guests were highly impressed with the standard, quality and presentation of all food served up. The function room is spacious and beautifully presented and no request, however big or small, is too much trouble. The staff were excellent and attentive and the rooms and views from the balcony simply added to the already outstanding experience. We didn't want to leave! Since our wedding day it has been clear that all who attended were thoroughly impressed and enjoyed the wedding and venue in every aspect. We cannot recommend this venue highly enough, not just for a wedding but for any escape to the kingdom!
